Introducing Gates: Show the right tasks at the right time

Onboarding is a critical stage in the customer journey, setting the foundation for a successful, long-term relationship.

But let's be honest: onboarding can be complex and challenging, with many tasks to complete, information to gather, and milestones to hit. It's easy for customers to feel overwhelmed or lost along the way.

At Arrows, we're constantly looking for ways to simplify and streamline the onboarding process, both for our customers and their end-users. That's why we're thrilled to introduce our latest feature: Gates.

What are Gates?

Gates are a powerful new feature in Arrows that allows you to control the flow of your onboarding process, ensuring that customers stay focused on the right tasks at the right time.

With Gates, you can:

🔐 Lock future tasks until prerequisites are complete. Customers will only see the tasks they need to work on now, preventing them from jumping ahead or getting confused.

🔓 Automatically advance customers when they're ready. As soon as a prerequisite is met, the next task unlocks, without any manual intervention needed.

📬 Re-engage customers at the right moments. Send automated email notifications whenever a new task becomes available, pulling customers back into the process and keeping them on track.

Gates give you the flexibility to design an onboarding flow that matches your unique process, while providing your customers with a clear, guided experience from start to finish.

Why Gates?

In our work with hundreds of onboarding teams, we've seen firsthand how challenging it can be to keep customers engaged and on track throughout the onboarding process. Customers often get distracted, confused, or simply drop off when faced with a long list of tasks or unclear next steps.

Gates solve this problem by providing a structured, step-by-step approach to onboarding. By locking future tasks until prerequisites are complete, Gates ensure that customers only see what they need to focus on now, reducing overwhelm and confusion.

At the same time, Gates automate much of the manual work involved in guiding customers through the onboarding process. Automatic task unlocking and email notifications keep customers moving forward, without constant intervention from your team.

Get Started with Gates

Gates are now available to all Arrows customers!

To start using Gates:

  1. Create a free Arrows account
  2. Open any plan or template in Edit mode
  3. Hover your mouse between tasks or phases where you want to add a gate
  4. Click the "Add Gate" button and configure your gate settings
