A plan is only as good as its last update. If a buyer pushes the demo to next week and the plan still says “prep for Tuesday,” you stop trusting it, and you go back to keeping the real plan in your head.
This week we made a set of changes so the Deal Gameplan keeps up with your deal, and plans the way a careful rep would.
It reacts to more of what happens
Arrows already revisits the gameplan when a meeting is booked, an email comes in, or a call is logged. Now it also reacts when:
- A meeting is rescheduled. Move the demo from Tuesday to Thursday and Arrows adjusts the plan around the new date, including the prep and follow-up steps tied to that meeting.
- A note or call is edited in HubSpot. Reps often log a quick note right after a call and fill it in later. When you edit the body of a note or call, Arrows reads the new version and updates the plan.
It’s more careful about what’s done
A plan that checks things off too early is worse than no plan. So Arrows now follows a few firm rules:
- A meeting isn’t done until it’s over. Arrows won’t mark a meeting complete while it’s still in progress.
- Your steps stay yours. If a step still needs something from you, like sending an email or making a call, it won’t be marked complete on its own.
- Past meetings show as done. Meetings that already happened appear in the gameplan as completed steps, so the plan reads as a full history of the deal, not only what’s ahead.
It plans forward, on the right days
New steps now look ahead from where the deal actually is, instead of filling the plan with things that should have happened already.
Arrows also has a small calendar to work from, so it doesn’t mix up days of the week. When it says “follow up Thursday,” it means the right Thursday.
An example
You have a demo on Tuesday. Monday afternoon, the buyer asks to move it to Thursday. Once the meeting is moved, Arrows adjusts the gameplan: the prep lines up with Thursday, and the follow-up comes after it. During Thursday’s demo, nothing gets checked off early. After the call, you log a one-line note in HubSpot, then come back an hour later and add the details. Arrows reads the full note and adds the next step: send the security questionnaire the buyer asked for.
Getting started
There’s nothing to turn on. Every gameplan in Arrows now works this way. Keep logging meetings, notes, and calls the way you already do, and the plan will follow.
